Figure Drawing Garden: a sketchbook walk before Dec 1
Editorial basis
This is not a play session. Nobody at Venn has played Figure Drawing Garden for this page, and there is no Conrado clip behind it. The read comes from the Steam store page, checked on October 27, 2026, from the demo listing, and from the developer's site. A clip from Indie Game Joe is one reason the game reached us. The post is his. The notes below are ours. The game is still upcoming, so published critic scores are not part of this read.
What the game is
Figure Drawing Garden is a single-player game from Josh O'Caoimh, who is also the publisher. Steam lists it as coming soon, with a planned release of December 1, 2026. A demo named Figure Drawing Garden Demo (app 4733860) has been out since September 6, 2026. As of October 27, the store page was not listing a price.
Steam's genres are Casual, Indie, Simulation, Animation & Modeling, Design & Illustration, Education, and Utilities. The listed platforms are Windows and Linux. The feature list includes Steam Achievements, full controller support, Steam Workshop, and Family Sharing. Accessibility tags include playing at your own pace and saving at any time. Steam lists 32 interface languages and does not claim a full-audio language.
The store page and figuredrawinggarden.com describe a virtual garden of 3D-scanned classical and Renaissance sculptures, built for figure-drawing practice. You walk the garden and sketch. The pitch includes a Dynamic Lighting mode for shading, Challenge Sculptures, Simplified Form and Perspective Grid tools, optional soundscapes, a QR code into a Community Gallery, and community model packs for anime, fantasy, and science fiction. The garden is described as expanding as you draw. We are reporting that pitch. We have not used the tools.
The Steam stills are a garden, a sketch, and a menu. The first is a daylight formal garden: a circular hedge, a fountain, and a classical statue on a pedestal, with stone paths and tall trees. The second is a path through the hedges toward another statue. Text on that shot reads "PRESS E when finished to reveal the TRUE PERSPECTIVE," with a counter at "9 DRAWING POINTS," and a stamp, "FDG Alpha 1.0 (#20240314)." That stamp is on the screenshot. The demo Steam lists went up on September 6, 2026, so this page does not treat the stamp as the current build. The third still is a graphite sketch of a classical figure, with the counter at "96 DRAWING POINTS." The fourth is a menu over the garden. The rows read Resume, Gallery, Model Packs, Wishlist, Settings, Soundscape, and Exit. The Model Packs column lists Base Sculptures and Human Scans by Figure Drawing Garden, Anatomy Reference by scribblemouse, Dinosaurs by Dinoboy1996, Fantasy Characters by gizmogamer94, a Manga Pack by muramura, Muscle Men by zavazaal, and a Robots Pack. That is the community-pack idea sitting on the store page. It is not a session of ours.
What the clip is reacting to
Indie Game Joe posted a short clip on October 25, 2026. As of an API read on October 27, 2026, around 10:28 BRT, it stood at about 903,000 impressions, about 20,800 likes, about 15,900 bookmarks, and about 3,500 reposts. Those counts move. We are not embedding the video, and we are not restating his caption.
What the store and the demo are offering, which is the public object a clip like that has to work with, is a place to walk and draw from scanned sculpture, with lighting you can change, before December 1. The demo has been on Steam since September 6. We have not played it, so this page does not grade the drawing tools, the lighting, or how the garden grows.
Our take
Wishlist it, or try the demo, if you care about figure-drawing practice and want 3D-scanned sculpture with lighting you can control. That is a reading of the store page and of a clip that traveled, not a session. We have not sketched in it.
The December 1 date is Steam's planned release. On October 27 the page was still marked coming soon, and it still had no price. If the drawing tools are the part you care about, the demo is the thing that is actually up.
