Back from gamescom 2026 in Cologne
We're back from gamescom 2026, which ran August 26–30 in Cologne, Germany.
Rafaella Bianck, from our design team, was selected by CreativeSP, the São Paulo State Government program run by InvestSP, to represent Venn on its gamescom mission. In the end, several of us made the trip.
The Indie Castle
On the show floor, our games were at the Indie Castle, in Hall 10.2. We had four stations, with Rogue Reigns, Paradoxical and Dark Island: Faded Memories.
The Indie Castle is the shared booth of Indies United, set up by Insomnia Development, an indie studio from northern Germany. When they brought their own game, Spriggan, to gamescom, they saw how expensive a space was for small studios. So they became an official group organizer and opened a booth that indies can share.
Getting to know this initiative was one of the most important parts of the trip for us.
Business area
In the business area, we were at the Brazil Games stand, in Hall 3.2, with ABRAGAMES and other Brazilian studios. Brazil Games is the export program run by ABRAGAMES with ApexBrasil.
Courage Cologne
The night before gamescom opened, we showed our games at Courage Cologne, an indie showcase during the gamescom dev community night. It was our second Courage this year, after the one on the eve of GDC, in March.
Rogue Reigns on Steam
During gamescom, IGN selected Rogue Reigns for its gamescom event on Steam. We also opened the Rogue Reigns playtest.
Playtest sign-ups are open. Just hit Request Access on the Rogue Reigns Steam page.
Thank you to CreativeSP and InvestSP, to Brazil Games, ABRAGAMES and ApexBrasil, and to the Insomnia team for having us at the castle.
